Subaru Crosstrek
The Crosstrek is the smallest and most affordable Subaru SUV, but it packs serious off-road personality. Based on the Impreza platform, it gets a lifted suspension (8.7 inches of clearance) and standard all-wheel drive. Its short overhangs make it incredibly maneuverable on tight trails. For 2026, the Crosstrek offers a new Sport trim with a 2.5L engine (182 hp) and dual-function X-MODE for deep snow or mud.
Inside, you'll find durable StarTex® water-repellent upholstery on Wilderness models, plus a large 11.6-inch touchscreen. The Crosstrek is also surprisingly fuel-efficient – the base 2.0L gets 28 city / 33 highway. While it's compact, it can still carry a 1500-lb trailer or a rooftop tent.
